It's Official

uBFF Dave and partner T. are moving to Canada.

A talented, accomplished and personable chap, my esteemed colleague and comrade-in-arms, Dave has accepted a very generous offer of employment and support for moving expenses from the Fraser Health Authority in British Columbia. The Universe is sending them strong affirmation of this decision and even I can't deny that they are doing the right thing in these circumstances. In fact, this would even be a good move if they weren't facing immigration challenges.

The position represents the next logical step in his career path, the salary is commensurate with the increase of responsibilities and consistent (perhaps more than...) with US standards for top-notch public health authorities. With this professional growth to look forward to in addition to the relief of immigration pressures, the proximity to T's family, the desirability of the location---it would be a difficult opportunity to walk away from for anyone.

Funny, isn't it, that we would both be making such big changes in our lives at the same time? Although its going to be difficult to get used to his being so far away, I couldn't ask him to stay. I think he's doing the right thing.
