Autumn Weekend Waning...

What a gorgeous weekend here in the mid-Atlantic! After a week of nothin' but rain, we awoke to sunny, crisp days both mornings. I don't know but somehow the arrival of autumn just feels---cleansing. Odd; that's how most people think of spring, isn't it.

El Roberto has been working like a crazy man and there are really no signs things will improve prior to first of year. He is so tired, frustrated, wound tight, BITCHY that he hasn't even noticed how pissy I've been. I guess that would be the silver lining, eh? We'll see if we survive the next three to four weeks when he will be working at home as his entire organization is moving into new digs. I may demonstrate the fine points of wi-fi pirating and put him out on the curb or dump him at Panera.

So my very cool weekend was full of kiddie fun on Saturday as Rob was in the office allllllll day for meetings. We actually managed to get a lot of housekeeping done without any drama (gasp!). And, me, domestic godess that I am, I actually completed and hung the "window treatments" for the french doors into Rob's sitting room. I feel VERY, VERY accomplished. After all, I had to cut a large piece of fabric into two smaller pieces of fabric, sew several straight lines, making a few little pockets and install hardware with a drill AND a screwdriver. I can bring home the bacon, fry it up in a pan...

Anyway, it was just too much fun to be me sewing in my newly decked out craft room with my tunes, everything right where I needed it to be. I hope Rob enjoys his sitting room as much as I enjoy my little creative spot...

And since today was so pretty, we dumped the kids on their grandmother (who was snippy and rude with me for no reason...) and drove around town on various errands: some new Cole Haan's for Rob, paint selections for the budoir and family rooms, some really excellent wall decor for the dining room and a few little storage ottoman thingies for the bedroom. You can totally have fun if you don't pay attention to how much things cost. Oh what a lovely day!

Ravelry
I'm feeling very organized about my knitting and this is good. I have a better handle on how much yarn I have, how much of it is already comitted to certain projects, where those patterns are, what adjustments need to be made. Still some of the information I now have available to me is a little embarrassing: How much yarn do I have in my "stash"? 8.85 Miles in 47 different types. How much yarn do I have that I might willingly part with, given the right deal (and entirely seperate from "stash", above)? 5.6 Miles in 26 different types. Of course this latter set is comprised heavily with leftovers from previous projects and there might even be a skein or two that came to me as a gift...ahhhh. I guess that's a lot of yarn.

Please send some rain our way (to Indiana). This Ravelry sounds wonderful, although, I'm so out of practice with knitting (3 years I think), my bin of yarn and needles is collecting dust. But, I do believe you have inspired me to start up again.
