Musical Excitement
I just saw that Eric Clapton/JJ Cale collaboration is being released on Tuesday! Woo-hoo! I have it pre-ordered it from Amazon which means it should be awaiting my return home on Tuesday.
I know practically nothing about JJ Cale except that I love his cover of "Cajun Moon". As soon as I heard about the Clapton pairing (btw, Cale wrote "After Midnight" and "Cocaine") it seemed like the most obvious thing to have done. The pre-release reviews are fairly exciting. I'll let you know. For now, enjoy the JJ Cale! Ed. note: If comments can be trusted, Rocky Frisco of the Cale Band has corrected me: Cale wrote, didn't cover, "Cajun Moon". All the better. Stop by anytime, Rocky. I couldn't love "Cajun Moon" anymore, regardless of who wrote it.
By the way, I purchased the Corinne Bailey Rae cd last week; you can barely escape the hype on this one. It doesn't disappoint. There's at least one additional single after "Put your Records On" and maybe more. I found myself thinking how she has really delivered what I had hoped Jill Scott or India.Arie would. Its just groove-heavy soul without the miltancy of Arie or the let-me-take-off-my-rings-so-I-can-slap-you-around cat-fight histrionics of Scott. Sorry to say so; I really want to like both of those artists but it just hasn't worked out.

Cale didn't cover "Cajun Moon;" he wrote it.
-Rocky Frisco, pianist, Cale band.
I humbly acknowledge my mistake. Thanks.
Drew---are you playing tricks on me?
No tricks from me.
I guess I'll have to take your word for it.
