When you wish upon a star...

Dear me, boys and girls, have you heard? I said, HAVE YOU HEARD?????? Apple yesterday announced the iPod Touch. Ohhhhh, and that's what we need to do....

Man oh man. I sat behind a couple who were using the iPhone for web-browsing at the John Mayer/Ben Folds concert last month (I thought I was a geek; they were googling lyrics!). I nearly had a fit; that is one sweet device and interface for web browsing.
The device is scheduled to launch next month and already the nay-sayers are saying "nay!". Can't believe it. They're grousing over lack of email client (because this hot box is all wi-fi and stuff) and storage space (16 gB max). HELLO? IS THIS THING ON? Its not yet ready for my very demanding hands (sad to say) but its a doubling of the iPhone's capacity, its much more thin, its not tethered to some cell phone network, IT ADDS TOUCH SCREEN CAPABILITY TO MUSIC BROWSING AND IT'S WI-FI ENABLED. Which part of this excellent news are you not hearing? Here's a cool feature that totally thrills: it has an "acceleromator" or something that detects motion, much like a Wii remote. For now that means that the display automatically orients itself to a landscape/portrait perspective depending on how you're holding it but its just a matter of time until all kinds of new functionality are built around that little feature. Oh! And reportedly, it also plays flash content a la YouTube videos, etc. Hee hee. Turn that fan on; I'm beginning to get a little sweaty...

Gadget girl couldn't wait to share the news with you. I can't wait until they have one ready for my needs. I'll take one with 60 gigs, please. I wonder how long it will take Vaja Cases to get their model ready?

And I used to think I liked new gadgets... You make me look like so much less of a geek! I love to see how excited you get over new toys!!!

I have "enthusiasm". I have it for knitting, for gadgets, for cool food and kitchen tools, for my family and for life. Yep, I'm a little overwhelming sometimes.

I'm like Tigger.
