Traveler's Stocking
This is going very nicely; its a lovely sock. As you can see, I've completed the leg, the heel flap and turned the heel. Now I working the gusset decreases and its easy breezy from here.
Here's the thing: I need to have a relatively easy project for airplane knitting on Thursday. I don't think this sock will keep me occupied for close to 8 hours in-flight and starting the second isn't an option because its too complicated without the pattern...oh, maybe I'll just xerox it. Anyway, I'd work on Daniel's sweater except I'm almost out of the yarn for the body and my LYS doesn't have any, meaning I had to order the additional yarn and it won't be here before I leave. So I'm wondering if I should start a fairly simple sock for Rob that I could knit on the plane or what... I think I've mentioned this before...it is SUCH a challenge to be a knitter.
Other Travel preparations
I'm going to cook a zillion things to leave for Rob and the girls; that's a major endeavor. While I'm in Canada, we will celebrate Canadian Thanksgiving, eh, so I need to write up some recipes and email them to myself so I can retrieve them there. I couldn't allow Dave and T. to celebrate their first Turkey day there without cheeseball or sweet potato casserole.
And if you can believe this: Northwest Airlines doesn't provide in-flight entertainment on any of the North American flights so I need to download a good book on tape or a movie or something. Any suggestions?

Lately I've been listening to a bunch of podcasts - I really like The Splendid Table, which is this goofy woman talking about food food FOOD! I ALSO LOVE the NYorker Fiction series. Oh, the David Sedaris Live at Carnegie Hall is Ahhh-Mazing.
if you like mysteries go for john sandford the prey series - suspense to the max! the library carries those! have fun!

but i am liking the sock - it is on my list of socks that i want to make - is that colinette sock yarn?
Of course I already have a new and better iPod; no one who lives with or near me would allow me to be without one for very long. Thanks for your kind thoughts, though. Ashes to ashes and all that...
The yarn is Jitterbug fingering.... I bought it in some dive over in King Farm.... its nice stuff, by the way. I've never knit with Colinette sock yarn (add to the list, whenever I get in the Ravelry club...) have you?
